QuickTalk
QuickTalk is a concept Apple Watch app designed during a design workshop. The idea was to create a simple, wrist-first voice journaling experience that lets users quickly capture thoughts, reminders, and ideas without needing to open their phone.
A quick voice journaling experience designed for Apple
QuickTalk started with a simple observation: ideas rarely arrive when we are ready to write them down. They show up while walking, travelling, cooking, working, or right before sleep — and by the time we open a notes app, unlock the phone, and start typing, the thought is often gone.
I wanted to explore how a wearable device like the Apple Watch could make this moment easier. Instead of asking users to pull out their phone or type on a tiny screen, QuickTalk lets them raise their wrist, tap once, and record a thought instantly.
Solving for one clear action
Designing for Apple Watch is very different from designing for a mobile screen.
The core design decision was to make recording the hero of the app. The experience was stripped down to one primary action: tap to talk.
Open QuickTalk → Tap microphone → Record thought → Save note → Revisit it later
This simple flow helped reduce friction and made the product feel natural for a wearable device.
Small choices that made the watch feel effortless
Every screen was designed around speed, clarity, and touch comfort. Since Apple Watch interactions are short and glance-based, I kept the experience focused on one primary action while using simple feedback, compact content, and strong contrast to make the app feel quick, reliable, and easy to use.
